For the First Time, Anne Geddes’ Celebrated Works Will Allow Reader Personalization through Put Me In The Story
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NAPERVILLE, IL – August 1, 2013—Sourcebooks, a leading independent publisher and developer, announces that Anne Geddes, one of the world’s most respected photographers, is joining Sourcebooks’ children’s and gift groups in a new line of licensed books and products.
Sourcebooks will develop and distribute new Anne Geddes books (physical and digital) through booksellers, major retailers, and libraries. Sourcebooks will also create products designed specifically for the Put Me In the Story personalized children’s book website and app. In addition, Sourcebooks will begin selling existing Anne Geddes eBooks immediately.
“I am so pleased and proud to have Sourcebooks as my American publisher,” says Anne Geddes. “To be involved in a company with such a creative and dynamic publishing program, both in print and digital, and the highly professional team led by a person with drive, passion and heart in Dominique Raccah, is such a natural fit. Naturally, I care very deeply regarding the use and protection of my images, and I am totally confident that with the group at Sourcebooks I have found a company that shares my values.”
“Anne is renowned for her iconic, beloved images of children that have touched millions of people, and we are incredibly excited to be working with her and the entire Geddes team,” says Dominique Raccah, CEO and publisher of Sourcebooks. “In addition to the opportunity to partner on the creation of stunning new gift books, Anne Geddes will also anchor the baby edition of Put Me In The Story. The fact that parents will now be able to design Anne Geddes books specifically for their baby is remarkable.”
Sourcebooks plans to release its first Anne Geddes personalized book at Put Me In The Story in October. Put Me In The Story takes nationally bestselling children’s books by celebrated and award-winning authors, and integrates personalization—creating personalized books that make the child the star of treasured children’s stories. Sourcebooks has previously announced the addition of The Berenstain Bears and Sesame Workshop books to the Put Me In The Story platform.
The first Anne Geddes print books for retail and library markets will be released next spring, and will feature never-before-seen photography. Forthcoming products will include a baby journal, a gift book for moms, board books, and more.
